However, Yan Yaoxuan kept saying no.
Eventually he couldn’t let Yan Yaoxuan off all the time. Late one night, when Yan Yaoxuan wanted to refuse and scold him, he persisted. Well, we’re done with this mess of a couple. Honestly, I would prefer not to have this at all, not because of the content, but rather the lack of content. Compared with Bai Qingquan and Shi Lei, this couple barely had any character or emotional development and I found that the writing was too rushed and lazy.

I feel that everything was a bit rushed, I would have liked it to have lasted longer, Considering the fact that the BQ and SL extras had 27 episodes, still, I liked it, it wasn’t as toxic as I thought, But you can still see all the manipulation behind it and the red flags, but I take comfort in the fact that they are both the same 🤣

From everyone’s warnings, I really expected this extra story to be super rough. Which I considered kinda weird because the rest of the novel was decent about consent and being honest about the bedroom issues. Tbh, I don’t think this was particularly bad? At least compared to other danmei which are very messed up.
YYX clearly wants it and his behaviour reflects that. He pursued SC and kept going back to him despite having many chances to leave. He was not even unsure about his feelings as he states multiple times that he likes SC very much. I think SC’s confusion about whether YYX is willing stems from the fact that YYX keeps saying ‘no’ just to be contrary. SC stops when YYX tells him to stop. And also, YYX probably feels like he holds some kind of power over SC by being able to abstain. Because he sees SC as a the same type of powerful man like his brother, he uses that power to feel better about what he perceives as his weaknesses. In his mind, if YYX can control SC through sex, then he’s not the loser he always thought he was.
I’ve seen other couples with a similar dynamic (heterosexuals included) and while I don’t personally find it appealing, I can’t say it’s exactly wrong either. Is it healthy? I don’t think so. But at least these two messy weirdos are enjoying themselves, so what more can we say? Everyone involved needs therapy but I doubt that’s happening.

If someone introduced YYX to the concept of consensual non consent, I bet they would have a more harmonious time. And lot of roleplays.

I ended up reading it because I hoped to see three things:
1. Some emotional development when Yaoxuan’s parents were in the hospital and gong went back to China with him
2. Some emotional development when Yaoxuan realized his feelings for MC were different/shallower than his feelings for gong
3. The final confrontation upon finally coming out to the fam
Maybe the author wasn’t certain the couple would make it long term and didn’t want to write too much dogblood, or it wasn’t well received in the comments so stopped it early. I’m just disappointed that I didn’t get to see anything other than the initial toxic hurdle being overcome by the new couple. So what did I read it for? XD
